A native Philadelphian, Patty Jackson, was born on Monday, November 4th, 1963, and has entered her silver anniversary in broadcasting. She attended South Philadelphia Motivation High School and the American Academy of Broadcasting before embarking on her radio career at WSSJ in Camden, NJ, when it was owned by Broadcast Pioneers member Pat Delsi. Her diverse career has included country, urban and pop formats, including Power 99 FM and Q102. But, her warm and soulful voice found its true home with adult radio listeners on WDAS-FM. Patty is the reigning Queen of Mid-days from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday. Patty’s brand of realness has kept her audience connected throughout her 25-year broadcasting career.

How did Gary Coleman really die? His adoptive parents want to know the truth. Coleman died last week at the age of 42. He was alone with his wife, Shannon Price, when he suffered a very serious head injury. A few hours later, he fell into a coma. His wife Shannon is a foot taller than him. During their marriage, she admitted getting physical with him. As his next of kin, she decided to pull the plug. His family wants to know why so soon? Why didn’t she consult them and ask their opinion? Why weren’t they allowed to say goodbye to him. Now there’s a new twist. Published reports say Coleman and Price were divorced at the time of his death.


Ali-Ollie Woodson of The Temptations passed away over the weekend. Woodson sang lead vocals on The Temps’ 80’s and 90’s hits Soul To Soul and Lady Soul. Woodson sang lead on the Temps biggest hit from that era Treat Her Like A Lady. He wrote the song with original Temptation Otis Williams. Woodson, 58, had been battling leukemia for most of the year. He was with the group from 1984-86 and 1988-1996. Woodson was known for his distinguished, gospel-influenced vocals. He will be missed.


We’ve got baby news: Alicia Keys and producer Swizz Beatz are having a baby. This is her first and his third. They are getting married in a private ceremony later this year. Celine Dion is expecting twins. Dion and her hubby René Angélil have a nine year old son. Mariah Carey has been trying, and we suspect she already is pregnant. She was supposed to star in Tyler Perry’s new movie For Colored Girls…., but she had to pull out. Expect an announcement any day now. Mariah is going to keep quiet for as long as she can. And, Khloe Kardashian is having a baby with hubby Lamar Odom of the L.A. Lakers.


As the anniversary of his death approaches, the caretakers of Michael Jackson’s gravesite are trying to come up with a plan to keep fans away. The situation at his mausoleum is getting crazy with tons of fans showing up with gifts. A lot of notables are showing up, including Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray was Jackson's personal physician at the time of his death, and he is being blamed for Jackson's death. Murray is currently on trial for manslaughter. What’s going to happen on the 25th, the anniversary of Jackson’s death? How will they keep the fans away? In other Jackson news, the details of his will have been released, and his children will get the full amount of their estate when they turn 40-years old. Each child was willed $33 million each.


Singer Regina Belle is doing much better after suffering a near fatal brain tumor. Belle is best known for her hits Baby Come To Me, Make It Like It Was, After The Love Has Lost Its Shine and If I Could. Now, She’s a gospel recording star currently touring with the McDonald’s Gospel Tour.


NFL Star Chad Ochocinco Johnson is gearing up for his VH1 Reality dating show Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch. The show premieres July 11th. The former Dancing With The Stars contestant has been catching flak for not having a fair share of African American women on the show. Out of a field of 85, there was only one African American. Sources say Ochocinco prefers Latina women and brunettes.


Janet Jackson may be ready to go on tour. She wowed millions when she appeared on American Idol’s season finale. She looked amazing and sounded good. Next month, she’s performing at The Essence Music Festival. Jackson is sporting a new short do as she prepares for her role in the Tyler Perry Movie For Colored Girls. Filming starts in a couple of weeks.


Luther Campbell (a.k.a. Uncle Luke) is catching heat from his family. Uncle Luke is being honored at the VH1 Hip Honors, but his family is reeling from the accusations of his daughter. Luke’s daughter Lacresha Campbell says her life was filled domestic violence and child neglect. Uncle Luke is known for his naughty brand of hip hop.


Nene Leakes of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta may have a new nose, but she is losing her hubby. There is trouble in paradise for Nene and her husband Greg Leakes. In the beginning, he was the moneymaker, but now he has fallen on hard times with his real estate business. Greg wants to divorce his famous wife, and he wants alimony. He feels he gave her the money to become a star. Now he wants his money back. Was Nene’s rumored cheating with a football player the cause of her marriage falling apart? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!


The Daytime Emmys air on June 27th, and this year they will be honoring TV Legend Dick Clark. Clark, 80, is known as America's oldest teenager. From his work on American Bandstand to New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and the many shows he produced, he is a TV Icon. In 2004, Clark suffered a stroke, and he rarely makes appearances.


Some of your favorite VH1 shows are getting a second season. What Chilli Wants, Basketball Wives and Brandy And Ray J have all been renewed for a second season. No word on Pepa’s show Let’s Talk About Pep.


Tiger Woods can’t date. Woods is going to have to pay his wife Elin a lot of money. Plus, she wants custody of their two kids. The cheating scandal destroyed their marriage, and Woods realizes this. He knows Elin won’t come back, so he figured he would try his hand at dating. Hi lawyers had to tell him not so fast! Stay away from the women, and for goodness sakes, no photos with them! They have warned him don’t give your wife any more ammunition. Your mistakes are blowing your fortune.


50 Cent is taking his acting career seriously. For his role as a football player dying of cancer, he lost 50 pounds. The movie Things Fall Apart is expected to come out early next year.


Former NFL Star Tiki Barber has finally seen his twin girls. Barber’s wife Ginny, who he recently dumped, had him barred from the hospital when she gave birth. After 11 years of marriage and two sons, Barber made the decision to dump his pregnant wife for a 23-year old blonde intern. Barber played football for the New York Giants for many years. Then retired for a career in television. He was recently working for The Today Show, but they have not used him since the scandal broke. What man dumps his pregnant wife? Barber obviously doesn’t care about his career. Barber saw the twins at the home he and Ginny shared before the seperation.


Eva Pigford has moved on from Actor Lance Gross. Pigford has been spotted getting cozy with former NBA Star Allen Iverson. Iverson is in the midst of a nasty divorce with his wife Tawanna. Gross stars on the TV show House Of Payne and the recent movie Our Family Wedding.


Garcelle Beauvais Nilon is divorcing her cheating hubby. Garcelle is married to Hollywood Agent Mike Nilon. They recently celebrated their ninth anniversary, and they have two-year old twins. A few months ago Garcelle discovered her husband was carrying on a long standing affair with another woman. Garcelle decided enough was enough, and now she wants out of the marriage. Garcelle is best known for her work in NYPD Blue and as her role as “Fancy” on The Jamie Foxx Show. Garcelle also did a spread for Playboy magazine.


Tipper and Al Gore are calling it quits after 40 years and four kids. What the heck happened? Was another woman involved? Who would have thought that the Clintons would have stayed married longer than the Gores.

It may not be over for Common and Serena. The popular actor/rapper and the tennis star have not been seen together in public but that may all change at the French Open. Common reportedly told friends he will be there to cheer her on. Serena’s tennis sensation sibling Venus Williams will be in town Thursday, July 8th signing copies of her new book, Come To Win. She will be at Borders in Center City.

Herbie Hancock has a new album coming out on the 22nd. The Imagine Project features Chaka Khan, John Legend, Seal, Pink and Dave Matthews and India Arie.


Don’t forget to check out the new TBS series Are We There Yet. It airs Wednesday nights at 9pm. The show is very funny and stars Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris) and Essence Atkins (Half & Half). The TV show is based on the hit Ice Cube movie of the same name. Ice Cube is the Executive Producer of the TV show.


The Dell East is back and the lineup is incredible. The season kicks off July 12th. Get ready For Teena Marie, The Whispers, Keith Sweat, Marvin Sapp, War, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill and Marion Meadows. The box office opens June 7th. The Dell East is located at 33rd and Ridge.


Blair Underwood is a busy guy. As an author, he’s just released the latest installment of his detective novel series entitled From Cape Town With Love: A Tennyson Hardwick Novel. As an actor, Underwood returns to NBC this fall with the drama series The Event, in which he plays the President Of The United States.


Poet/Author Dr. Maya Angelou recently turned 82, and she is coming out with a new cookbook called Great Food All Day Long.


Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is being honored at the White House. McCartney is getting the Gershwin Prize For Popular Song from The Library Of Congress. Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Corinne Bailey Rae are among those honoring McCartney. The ceremonies will air on PBS July 28th. McCartney has said he’d like an occasion to perform his Beatles song Michelle for Michelle Obama. We’ll see if that happens.


Paula Abdul is coming back to TV on the CBS dance show Got To Dance. Abdul will serve as a judge and executive producer. In the meantime, her money demands may have turned off the producers of Simon Cowell’s new show The X-Factor.


The O’Jays will be profiled on the new season of the TV documentary series Unsung along with Teddy Pendergrass, Tammi Terrell and George Clinton. The new season kicks off this fall. Also get ready for K-Ci and JoJo of Jodeci fame. They are getting a reality show on TV One dealing with their lives, and how they have battled their addictions.


Mary J. Blige is coming out with a new line of sunglasses. The Melodies Line arrives in stores this fall. And speaking of Mary, filming starts this fall in France for the new Nina Simone movie. The Queen Of Hip Hop Soul will play the jazz legend who died in 2003.


Former Spice Girl Mel B is getting a reality show on the Style network. The Mel B Project is being described as a comedy-docudrama, and it’ll show her life with her family and her show biz career. Mel B has two daughters: a pre-teen and a young toddler by Eddie Murphy. Mel B is also married to Stephen Belafonte. The Mel B Project debuts Labor Day weekend. Now speaking of Eddie Murphy, he says after 20 years he may return to stand up comedy. Murphy is best known for his concert film classics Raw and Delirious.


Next season’s winner of America's Next Top Model will get a cover on the Italian version of Vogue magazine.


Kem is back with a hot new song called Why Would You Stay. His new album, Intimacy, comes out July 13th.


Omarosa is back! Omarosa made a splash with the first season of The Apprentice, and now she has a new reality dating show. The TV villainess is looking for love on the new TV show Omarosa: The Ultimate Merger. Donald Trump is the executive producer and one of the men romancing Omarosa is Singer Al B. Sure.


Queen Latifah will be hosting The BET Awards on June 27th.


Jennifer Hudson is one busy lady. She has a new album coming out in September, and she’s being profiled on VH1’s Behind The Music. Hudson's special will air June 28th, and it shows the ups and downs, tragedies and triumphs of her life. And, for the first time, she will talk about the triple murders of her mother, brother and nephew. She will also talk about her fiancé David Otunga and new baby boy, David, Jr. If that weren’t enough, this summer, she will be filming the new movie Winnie. Hudson stars as Winnie Mandela.


Speaking of the movie Winnie, Terrence Howard is co-starring with Hudson in the movie. He will be playing Nelson Mandela. Howard’s pretty busy himself. He is also a newlywed. He recently married wife number three, L.A. Designer Michelle Ghent. Howard has also signed on to play Marvin Gaye when the story of his life comes to the big screen. This fall, Howard will be starring in the George Lucas movie Red Tails.


Chris Rock and Adam Sandler will be starring in a new comedy Grownups, which opens in theatres June 25th.


Get ready for the return of Dru Hill. Sisqo, Nokio, Jazz and new member Tao have a new reality show that will premiere on the Centric network June 28th, and they have a new album, Indrupendence Day, coming out July 27th.


To mark the anniversary of his passing, the latest book from E. Lynn Harris is being released. In My Father’s House arrives in bookstores June 22nd.


Fantasia has a release date for her new album. Bittersweet arrives in stores on July 15th.


The VH1 Hip Hop Honors is set for June 7th. This year’s honorees include Producer Jermaine Dupri, Rapper Master P and “Uncle Luke” himself, Luther Campbell.


Will Smith is returning to the Men In Black franchise, this time in 3-D. The new movie will also reunite him with co-star Tommy Lee Jones and hits theatres May 2011.


The Steve Harvey Radio Show is coming to TV. The BET network will be airing The Steve Harvey Radio Show on their Centric network starting this fall. Also, get ready for the return of the TV show The Game. The cancelled CW comedy is being revived on the Bet network with the original cast.


Trey Songz and Monica are gearing up for a summer tour. Songz also has a new reality show debuting on BET on June 27th.


The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin and The King Of Pop Michael Jackson are going to be the new inductees into the Apollo Theatre Hall Of Fame. The ceremony takes place June 14th. Past inductees include Patti LaBelle, Quincy Jones and Ella Fitzgerald. Jennifer Lopez and her hubby Marc Anthony are also going to be honored that night with a humanitarian award.


It will be the reunion of Run DMC at the 3rd Annual Roots Picnic. The event is happening this Saturday, June 5th at Penns Landing. This will be their first performance since the death of Jam Master Jay, who was murdered in 2002.


The new version of the Karate Kid hits theatres on June 11th with Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson and Jackie Chan.


The 7th Annual West Oak Lane Jazz And Arts Festival is going to an all-jazz theme this year. Mark your calendar for June 18th -20th. Three days, two stages and it’s all free with Al Jarreau, George Duke, David Sanborn, Diane Reeves and Joey DeFrancesco, to name a few. This year will have a New Orleans theme.
