A native Philadelphian, Patty Jackson, was born on Monday, November 4th, 1963, and has entered her silver anniversary in broadcasting. She attended South Philadelphia Motivation High School and the American Academy of Broadcasting before embarking on her radio career at WSSJ in Camden, NJ, when it was owned by Broadcast Pioneers member Pat Delsi. Her diverse career has included country, urban and pop formats, including Power 99 FM and Q102. But, her warm and soulful voice found its true home with adult radio listeners on WDAS-FM. Patty is the reigning Queen of Mid-days from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday. Patty’s brand of realness has kept her audience connected throughout her 25-year broadcasting career.

Did Halle Berry bully her man? When the news broke that the Oscar winner was no longer with her baby daddy, Canadian Model Gabriel Aubry, tongues started flapping. The couple had been together for almost five years, and they have a young daughter. Sources say the relationship has been rocky for some time, and they actually broke up a while ago. Friends of Aubry say he has been unhappy. Berry has a mean streak and an awful track record with men. Did Berry ridicule him? Friends of hers say Aubry wasn’t pulling his weight, and she wanted to move on. Friends of Aubry claim Berry often referred to him as a loser or just a model while she was an Oscar winner. Will there be a custody battle over their daughter Nahla. Aubrey has stated he wants equal time with his daughter. In the meantime, Berry is fielding offers including exchanging numbers with singer Trey Songz. Berry, 43, doesn’t mind dating youngins. Aubrey was 34, but Trey Songz is really young at 25.


The divorce battle between the Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade and his wife Siohvaughn is getting ugly. Wade is now dating Actress Gabrielle Union, and this week Union was slapped with a lawsuit from Wade’s children. The suit claims Union broke up their parents’ marriage. The kids are ages 2 and 8. The suit claims Wade and Union were engaging in adulterous acts in front of the children because Wade is still married. Dwayne and Siohvaughn were teenage sweethearts, but he dumped her shortly after the birth of their second child.


Ron Isley is out of confinement, and he is back in the studio. I had a chance to talk to him, and he revealed that he is working on a new album. The album will feature special appearances by Rapper T.I., Lauryn Hill and Aretha Franklin. He also said he will work with R Kelly again.


Speaking Of “Mr. Biggs” and The Queen Of Soul, does Aretha Franklin owe the tax man money? According to published reports, Lady Soul owes over $11,000 in overdue taxes.


In more tax news, the I.R.S. is looking for Comedian Katt Williams. Williams owes the government over $280,000. The past couple of years have been nothing but trouble for Williams as he battles his demons.


Oprah’s mom speaks! Oprah Winfrey’s mother Vernita Lee, has come under fire for her parenting and family secrets, including who Oprah’s real father is. An ailing World War II veteran, 84 year-old Norh Robinson, has claimed to be The Mighty O’s dad. Robinson asked for a DNA test, but Oprah said no. Her mom Vernita says she’s never seen the man before, and it’s outrageous for him to claim Oprah. Vernita says Robinson just wants Oprah to give him money. Vernita also responds to criticism that she wasn’t there for Oprah by telling N’Digo magazine that she was a good mom to Oprah and all of her children.


What’s up with Mariah Carey’s weight gain? Could she be taking fertility treatments to get pregnant? She and hubby Nick Cannon recently renewed their wedding vows.


LisaRaye has a hit on her hands with the TV One Reality show The Real McCoy, and now she has signed a deal for her own show on VH1. LisaRaye will be starring in the VH1 series Single Ladies along with Stacey Dash and Lauren London. Queen Latifah is writing the script. No word on when the show will hit the air.


Michael Jackson’s Thriller video was recently named the most influential pop music video of all time by an internet survey.


Actor Brandon Victor Dixon will be starring in the Ray Charles musical Unchain My Heart, which hits Broadway this November.


Beyonce is sporting a new Brooklyn tattoo on her hand. This is her first tattoo, and a surprising one being that she is from Houston. I guess the Brooklyn is in honor of husband Jay Z’s hometown.


Mary J. Blige is teaming up with Carol’s Daughter for her first fragrance. The fragrance is called My Life. Look for the commercials soon.


Fantasia has a release date for her new album. Bittersweet arrives in stores on July 15th.


Gabby Sidebe’s mom, Alice Tan Ridley, is rumored to be the breakout star of the new season of America’s Got Talent. Ridley is a subway singer who wowed the judges at the America’s Got Talent audition. The new season, with Host Nick Cannon, kicks off June 1st.


Congrats to Rapper Big Daddy Kane, who recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Shawnette.


Ruben Studdard continues to lose weight. He is a vegetarian, and so far he has lost 150 pounds.


LL Cool J is back with another fitness and lifestyle book. LL Cool J’s Platinum 360 Diet And Lifestyle Book talks about his plan for staying in shape and being healthy. LL Cool J is doing his thing as an actor (NCIS: L.A.), a businessman and a rapper.


Jaheim has teamed up actress Regina King for his new video Finding My Way. King not only co-stars, but she directs the video. Speaking of King, her TNT series Southland has been renewed for a third season. The cop drama kicks off the new season in January.


The wedding is off for Singer Keyshia Cole and the NBA’s Daniel “Boobie” Gibson. An August wedding had been planned for the couple, who are the parents of a baby boy. Sources say the wedding has been put on hold so Cole can finish work on a new album.


Oscar Winner Denzel Washington has donated a million dollars to Steve Harvey’s mentoring foundation. Washington made the donation at a gala held earlier this week. The Steve Harvey Foundation mentors young men from underprivileged backgrounds. This has been a big week for Washington. He has been nominated for a Tony for is work in the Broadway revival of Fences. His Co-star Viola Davis has also been nominated for Best Actress. Other Tony nominations include David Alan Grier for the play Race and the musical Fela! got 11 nominations. The Tony Awards take place June 13th.


In more Broadway news, Jordin Sparks, a former American Idol winner, has joined the cast of the musical In The Heights. She’ll play the role of “Nina Rosario.” Sparks, 20, starts her Broadway run in August.


Bobby Brown, Christopher Williams and Al B. Sure will be hitting the road this summer for The Secret Garden Tour.


Teddy Pendergrass, The O’Jays, Tammi Terrell and George Clinton will all be profiled on the new season of the TV documentary series Unsung. The new season kicks off this fall. Also get ready for K-Ci and JoJo of Jodeci fame. They are getting a reality show on TV One dealing with their life, and how they have battled their addictions.

The Sex And The City movie opens in theatres May 27th. Yes, Carrie and the girls are back! Will Carrie cheat on “Mr. Big?” That’s the big question in this sequel. The movie soundtrack comes out on May 25th and features music from Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Erykah Badu.


The VH1 Hip Hop Honors is set for June 7th. This year’s honorees include Producer Jermaine Dupri, Rapper Master P and “Uncle Luke” himself, Luther Campbell.


Will Smith is returning to the Men In Black franchise, this time in 3-D. The new movie will also reunite him with co-star Tommy Lee Jones and hits theatres May 2011.


Betty White is hosting Saturday Night Live on May 8th. The special musical guest is Jay-Z.


Actress Victoria Rowell is back with her latest book Secrets Of A Soap Opera Diva. Rowell is best known for her work on the soap opera The Young And The Restless, where she played “Drucilla.” Will she ever return to the legendary number one daytime show? So far, producers have expressed no interest in bringing back Rowell, but a casting call recently went out for an African American woman to play a character loosely based on “Drucilla.”


The Steve Harvey Radio Show is coming to TV. The BET network will be airing The Steve Harvey Radio Show on their Centric network starting this fall. Also, get ready for the return of the TV show The Game. The cancelled CW comedy is being revived on the Bet network with the original cast.


Get ready for the return of The Dell East. Yes, The Dell East at 33rd and Ridge Avenue! After a two-year absence, The Dell East is returning with a new season. The kickoff is July 12th. As soon as we find out the lineup, we will let you know. There will be 8 shows this season.


Trey Songz and Monica are gearing up for a summer tour. Songz also has a new reality sow debuting on BET on June 27th.


Philly’s own Patti LaBelle is getting a new honor right here in town. LaBelle will be receiving an Honorary Doctorate Of Humane Letters at Temple University’s 123rd Commencement on May 13th.


The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin and The King Of Pop Michael Jackson are going to be the new inductees into the Apollo Theatre Hall Of Fame. The ceremony takes place June 14th. Past inductees include Patti LaBelle, Quincy Jones and Ella Fitzgerald. Jennifer Lopez and her hubby Marc Anthony are also going to be honored that night with a humanitarian award.


At the movies this week, it’s Iron Man II with Robert Downey, Jr., Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson.


On May 14th, it’s Queen Latifah, Common, Paula Patton and Pam Grier in the movie Just Wright. Philadelphia Native Mike Elliott directs the comedy about finding love when you least expect it.


It will be the reunion of Run DMC at the 3rd Annual Roots Picnic. The event is happening June 5th at Penns Landing. This will be their first performance since the death of Jam Master Jay, who was murdered in 2002.


The new version of the Karate Kid hits theatres this summer with Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson and Jackie Chan.


The 7th Annual West Oak Lane Jazz And Arts Festival is going to an all-jazz theme this year. Mark your calendar for June 18th -20th. Three days, two stages and it’s all free with Al Jarreau, George Duke, David Sanborn, Diane Reeves and Joey DeFrancesco, to name a few. This year will have a New Orleans theme.
